Heng Wang, M.D., PhD, Medical Director
Dr. Wang is a board certified pediatrician. In addition to his medical degree, he has a PhD in biochemistry, along with many years of research experience. As a physician scientist, Dr. Wang has been instrumental in all scientific discoveries in DDC Clinic, from description of new diseases and associated genes, to development of diagnostic and treatment protocols for many genetic conditions.
Dr. Wang and his wife Jian live in Orange with their two daughters. Between his busy practice with DDC Clinic, he enjoys practicing Tai Chi.
Baozhong (Bao) Xin, PhD, Research Scientist
Dr. Xin has a PhD in molecular biology and viral oncogenesis from the University of Hong Kong and he completed his post-doctoral fellowship with the Cancer Biology and Cancer Genetics Program at Case Western Reserve University.
The unique opportunity and challenge that DDC Clinic presents is what intrigues Dr. Xin most about working at DDC Clinic. While he is fascinated by the research, he also enjoys working closely with the community and our patients to translate the research into real-world answers and solutions.
In his spare time Dr. Xin enjoys family life with his wife Li and his two daughters, as well as music, traveling and sports. His co-workers enjoy teasing him about his love of eating!
Wei Li, M.D., Visiting Scholar
Dr. Li is a visiting scholar from Tiantan Hospital in Beijing, China. He has a Master’s Degree in Science and a Medical Degree in Neurology; he is finishing his PhD in Neurobiology.
DDC Clinic has a partnership with Case Western Reserve University for Dr. Li to study pediatric neurology with us for one year. Dr. Li’s specialty is vascular disorders and, in particular, strokes. With DDC Clinic’s latest research findings on SAMS association, a new condition never before described in medical literature, and the discovery of a gene connected with early onset of stroke, having Dr. Li with us at this time is especially exciting.
Dr. Li enjoys traveling and has already made several trips to see the United States. Now that spring is around the corner, he looks forward to enjoying the local scenery! Dr. Li has a wife and young son in China.
Alicia B. Bright, RN, Registered Nurse
Alicia has an Associate Degree in Nursing from Kent State University. She has worked in Geauga County for many years and has been closely associated with families in the community through her work. Her work experience includes work as a public health nurse with the Geauga County Health District, work with the American Red Cross as well as staff positions in various medical and care centers.
Alicia enjoys traveling to visit her two sons, at this time that includes New York and Nashville; she is excited to see where their future might take them so she can see more of the country. She is an avid bicyclist as well and enjoys taking her bike along wherever she goes.
Darla Klein, Executive Director
Darla has a BS Degree in Environmental Health from Bowling Green State University and spent many years working in manufacturing for companies like Glidden and Avery Dennison. She enjoys using her organizational skills and her own personal family experience of having a daughter with special needs to help strengthen clinic operations. Darla served on the board of directors for nine years before taking on the staff position, gaining an in-depth understanding of the history and mission of the clinic.
Darla and her husband Jeff live in Chagrin Falls with their son and daughter. She enjoys music, traveling and reading.
Patti Gallagher, Business Manager
Patti joined DDC Clinic in order to use her business and financial background, as well as her personal family experience of having a brother with special needs, to help others. Patti’s diverse work experience includes office management at various organizations and finance at banking institutions.
Patti and her husband Jack live in Burton – when they aren’t traveling to someplace warm with a beach. They have four sons and are enjoying their grandchildren immensely.
Sherry Breedlove, Administrative Assistant
Sherry joined DDC Clinic in June, 2011, bringing more than 15 years of medical office experience to DDC Clinic. Sherry previously worked at Ravenwood Mental Health and Western Reserve Medical.
Sherry and her husband Rory love family time with their four children and two grandchildren. Sherry likes to be outside and enjoys the beauty of nature; naturally that means she likes to ride their motorcycle! She also likes to read and observe people interact.
