Patient oriented research is part of our mission. Without research, DDC Clinic would be a chronic care clinic, responsive to the symptoms of these rare disorders. Research will provide us with the means to be proactive with these diseases.

Our Medical Director, Heng Wang, MD, PhD. is a physician- researcher. A physician-researcher is experienced as a medical doctor and also as a bench scientist (a bench scientist spends time in a laboratory doing ‘test tube’ research). Hence, Dr. Wang has the skills to potentially move scientific discoveries from bench to bedside.
