Donor Stories

Our donors are very special people, supporting DDC Clinic for a variety of reasons and in different ways. No matter how they support us, they’re truly committed to helping special needs children get life-changing care. These are some of their personal stories.

Gordon and Evie Safran

Starting a medical clinic in the middle of a rural county? “It’s a terrible idea,” his friend asserted when Gordon Safran, one of our founding members, told him about the plan to build a medical clinic for children with rare genetic conditions. But Gordon had his heart set.

Chuck and Char Fowler

Growing up in rural Indiana, Chuck Fowler worked alongside Amish families on a small family farm. At home, Chuck’s parents instilled in him and his brothers and sisters, strong family values. Service to the community is a family tradition. One that Chuck, Char, and their family hold closely today.

Jim and Nancy Patterson

The Pattersons, involved with DDC Clinic from its earliest days, remember our humble beginnings, the dream of what could be accomplished, and the commitment to create what eventually became an internationally recognized medical clinic.

Bob and Linda Toth

Years ago before there was a clinic, the Toths attended the first Amish Wedding Dinners and heard about a vision to bring much needed medical care to children affected by genetic conditions. Stories were told, ideas were explained, and hats were passed.

Dr. Ying An

Dr. An, a pediatric dentist, was so moved by working with our patients that she became a regular donor, supporting our clinic in her own unique way. This is her story.

Anonymous DDC Clinic Donor

Overcoming his hesitation to share his personal story of giving, this donor felt it was important to tell others about why he believes in DDC Clinic and why he has supported our mission for more than two decades.
