Chuck and Char Fowler
A Tradition of Community Service
Growing up in rural Indiana, Chuck Fowler worked alongside Amish families on a small family farm. At home, Chuck’s parents instilled in him and his brothers and sisters, strong family values. Service to the community is a family tradition. One that Chuck, Char, and their family hold closely today.
Embracing and living those values is a lifelong commitment, one that took root in Geauga County soon after Chuck and Char relocated here from Indiana. Family friends introduced Chuck and Char to Dr. Wang. Immediately, DDC Clinic felt like home. The clinic’s Amish patients reminded Chuck of his childhood working on the farm.
At that time, DDC Clinic’s current home was just a vision. Yet, Chuck could see it clearly. Instantly, he understood the need for a building to welcome families and care for them. Char stood at his side, a silent partner, championing the cause. Soon, Chuck joined DDC Clinic’s board and the building campaign.
In 2009, DDC Clinic’s new home opened. Like so many friends of DDC Clinic, Chuck and Char Fowler’s hearts filled with warmth at the grand opening.
The Fowlers have continued to support DDC Clinic ever since. “We’re glad to make a difference in so many children’s lives,” says Char.
“I’m committed to making others aware of the importance of this clinic – and of the clinic’s need for support from the caring community,” says Chuck, DDC Clinic’s lifetime trustee. “After all, a child’s life will not wait.”
Chuck and Char’s caring and passion for our clinic’s mission continue to serve as inspiration to so many.
