Dr. Wang Receives Distinguished Service Award

April 6, 2026

Dr. Heng Wang, our clinic’s Medical Director, was recently honored with the 2026 Frank Samuel Distinguished Service Award.

The prestigious award, presented by Geauga Growth Partnership (GGP), recognizes individuals for their extraordinary professional achievement and deep commitment to the community.

“Dr. Wang’s lifelong dedication to children, families and scientific advancement – paired with his lasting impact on Geauga County – make him an exceptional and deserving honoree,” said Kimm Leininger, GGP President and CEO.

The award, named after GGP’s founding executive director, Frank Samuel, was formally presented to Dr. Wang at GGP’s annual business meeting on April 2, marking a milestone in his remarkable 25-year history with DDC Clinic.

Speaking to the group, Dr. Wang accepted the award on behalf of his team, thanking staff, board members, the Amish community, and his family. He spoke about our clinic’s mission to serve children with complex conditions and our expanding impact through scientific research and collaboration. He also reflected on the award’s personal significance, recalling Frank Samuel’s support of DDC Clinic and the maple trees planted along its driveway as a symbol of growth and compassion.

For more than two and a half decades, Dr. Wang has been a powerful guiding force, advancing our clinic’s mission, and transforming our fledgling medical practice into a respected world-class medical and research facility.

“Dr. Wang’s commitment to patient care has left an indelible mark on the clinic and wider community,” said Eli Miller, DDC Clinic Executive Director. “From visiting patients’ homes to serving patients worldwide, Dr. Wang’s journey embodies compassion and visionary leadership.”
